Sullivan's father is on the Zoom line and being allowed to stay. A friend is being kicked off.
He will stay released, judge is going to set release conditions... government is listing their requests.. government wants all activity with Insurgents USA to be prohibited.
Wants contact prohibited between Sullivan and all victims or alleged co-defendants. No weapons. No drugs. Permission required to travel. Mental health evaluation. Surrender passport. Home detention, GPS monitoring. Computer monitoring. No Twitter or Facebook.
No encrypted platforms. No inciting, promoting, or organizing protests, riots, etc. on any platform.
His lawyer is objecting to the Insurgents USA ban - says it's his employer and he has a right to keep working.
Also objecting to all the social media bans as outrageous.
Objecting to no contact with victims or witnesses. Says he intends to interview those and his practice is to take his clients with him.
Sullivan no longer owns a firearm. He sold it to his father.
AUSA pushes back on defense claim his social media use is typical of his age group by noting most young people don't typically have instructions to make Molotov Cocktails on their social media.
Sullivan's lawyer is claiming his client wasn't armed on Jan 6th. He took video of himself making his way through the cloud getting people to move by saying "I have a knife".
Judge declares a recess until 545pm while she reviews her notes.
Judge rejects no-contact order, mental health evaluation, and social media ban. Orders monitoring remotely by pre-trial services.
Places a prohibition on him working with Insurgents USA. Allowed to attend protests, but can't bring weapons. Needs permission to travel outside of Utah. Can't use social media to incite violence, but no general prohibition.
