It's always good to work on your personal resilience, but this is perhaps the most necessary time to do so. I know mine's been all over the place during the pandemic, but I try to chip away at it. Reading some articles today as a refresher. https://www.apa.org/topics/resilience
Real talk though, I think Twitter and its discourse contributes a lot to undermining resilience. We have a habit of framing a lot of things in terms of victimization and trauma politics. It kinda warps our brains.
Victimization happens. Really terrible things happen. I've lived through some unspeakable shit myself. I've had to fight through a lot of trauma. But adopting victimization as an identity and hunkering down on it I think is no bueno for anybody.
Victimized-as-identity keeps people from reaching post-traumatic growth. Which, if we're going to go through all this bullshit, we might as well get something out of it. I think it's better to reach for being happier and healthier than not reach. https://hbr.org/2020/07/growth-after-trauma
