a large reason why I stepped away from the Church was being taught Catholicism as a religion of almost exclusively legalist requirements with a country club mentality. I still see much of the country club mentality on twitter
(I see the exclusive legalist crowd on twitter too but am not addressing that)

the country club mentality is insiders &/vs outsiders & insiders, if they pay any attention to the outsiders, it only happens when the outsiders may effect those on the inside
it's very insular, unfortunately.

What partially broke me of my alienation was learning about Dorothy Day & St. Romero, ppl who were in the dirt with the most alienated
