Thread: League One GK analysis. Starting with a comparison of shot stopping & how often keepers come to deal with high balls. Holy & Leutwiler immediately stand out as keepers over performing as shot stoppers & regularly dealing with high balls. Burgoyne less so...
Save % - xSave % compared to shots faced. Maxwell not facing many shots thanks to a strong #UTMP defence but also not saving many either. Despite #rafc conceding most goals in L1 Bazunu saving about as many shots as expected. Can't say same about Kovar's loan to #STFC though...
Comparing save % under/over-performance to xSave %. Burge doesn't face many shots at #safc but faces harder ones & having a great shot stopping season. Sarkic on average faces easier shots but not making many errors. Eastwood lots harder shots at #OUFC & big under-performance
A little more detail on leaving line. Burge having a great shot stopping season but doesn't come for many crosses. #NTFC's Arnold comes for most balls & lots under pressure. #Imps' Palmer & #asfc's Baxter 2 young keepers having solid seasons both under high balls & shot stopping
A look at which keepers get the best protection. Tough job playing in goal for #rafc & #bafc (up to January at least). #ntfc defence didn't protect Arnold well but much better for Mitchell! Maybe he organises well?
Finally quick look at GK involvement in build-up. If you play in goal for #drfc or @MKDonsFC you better be prepared to pass the ball a lot! Bazunu a slight outlier, but then his long passing is 🔥
