The one below might be my best suggestion for the time being. I hope we can all see how hate mails can be motivated by frustration, but remain "disgusting" (I am borrowing the adj. from @n4india1 ). There are two other areas of disagreement that remain open: 1/5 https://twitter.com/elisa_freschi/status/1361697487678033920
1st, are anadhikārins acceptable in the field of Skt philosophy and what does the adhikāra include (having learnt one's śākhā+vedāṅgas?) according to the relevant śāstra. I can accept adhikāra based on śāstra, but I am sceptic when it comes to "I am Hindu, therefore I can" 2/5
2nd, is one's faith (or lack thereof) an obstacle while trying to understand a certain text. I would say that one always comes with a certain baggage and needs to become aware of one's biases. I am also inclined to think that having some openness towards religious experiences 3/5
helps understanding other people's religious experiences. WE ALL AGREE that ridiculing other people's faith or insulting it is extremely bad. Anyway, I would suggest a) truce until all texts are taken care of or there are enough Indian scholars for this task, 4/5
b) postponed discussion about points 1. (adhikāra) & 2. (faith), c) acknowledging that there are political issues over us (such as: Does UK pay back to India in terms of scholarships for students like Germany w Israel?) and therefore giving up hate mails as much as we can. 5/5
