Opinion-

Samson didn't fail in Australia. He was given a role which he played selflessly without thinking about his place. For whatever time he was on the crease he kept the momentum towards India letting other batsmen settle.
Just because the role wasn't played for long enough, dropping him is not a good sign going forward. This attitude is the exact reason behind the insecurity which leads to young players adopting a cautious approach instead of playing fearlessly for the team.
For India to win the cup which is eluding us since 2013 we need batsman who can match the demands of the modern game. In a XI of Virat and Rohit, who likes to take time, batsman striking at high SR is mandatory at another end. A demand rahul,Sanju, Pant, pandya can fulfill.
