Interesting take from this guy. Expert with data backed research saying we should re-open schools with guidelines.
But everyone's angry at him in the comments. Seems to work - WHEN EVERYONE FOLLOWS THE GUIDELINES - but the fear is regular schools will not be able to comply. https://twitter.com/BenjaminLinas/status/1361332942170189825

Comforting to know that we can stop the spread indoors with masks on and improved ventilation. Great! Neat!
But we can't even get the adults at work places to keep masks on, let alone wear them properly. NO WAY that kids won't be a vector during a surge.

The high income private schools from the research papers are going to perform dramatically differently at containing the virus than lower income schools. Add to the mix that the virus hits some people harder and the privilege starts showing. Good summary: https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-columnists/whats-at-stake-in-the-fight-over-reopening-schools
I like what Biden's doing. Like herding cats to get all kiddos and schools to comply with strict masking and ventilation policies. So the play is to keep things closed a little longer and hard push for vaccination. Hedges against non-compliance and will keep kids safe.
We're so close to the finish line! Just need to hold off a little longer until we can get the vaccine available to everyone.
