First of all in this thread I will bring prove for the Khilafah of Abu bakr then I will talk about incident of ghadir khum and its context. It will be along thread..
Prophet pbuh did not Make anyone caliph. But he wanted to make Abu bakr his Caliph and even wanted to write a will for him but restrained himself by saying Allah and Momineen will not agree on anyone except Abu bakr.. This narration has multiple Isnads(chains)
We have seen above that Prophet pbuh wanted to make Abu bakr caliph. He gave some signs towards that also. One a woman Came and asked about something and said If I didn't find and you and If I found you dead .Then prophet pbuh said then go to Abu bakr.. This is also a prof
In Past Imam of Salah was political leader of people. In Islam Caliph used to lead Salah. In Islam politics is not separate from religion unlike Christianity where pope is religious leader and king is political leader. Prophet pbuh in his last days made Abu bakr imam of Salah
Prophet pbuh made Abu bakr Imam of Salah and we know that In those days Caliph used to lead prayer. By doing this Prophet pbuh was pointing towards his khilafah by making him Imam in his last days. He also ordered all doors of mosque to be closed except the gate of Abu bakr
Prophet closed all the gates of Masjid except the gate of Abu bakr because He was the Imam and he had to enter the masjid Nabwi through his gate.
Even Ali said Abu bakr is most deserving of khilafah among people.. He also cited the same thing that prophet pbuh made Abu bakr Imam of Salah and it was pointing towards his khilafah. Narrating which is following is sahih
No one was worthy of khilafah except the Abu bakr after the prophet pbuh.. Umar ibn khattab said "Abu bakr is most worthy of khilafah and no one among you has the qualities of Abu bakr"
Even When a Tabai asked from Aishah binte Abi Bakr whom prophet pbuh would nominate his khalifah if he had to nominate one at all. She said Abu bakr.. It was common knowledge among Sahabah that Abu bakr has more right to be a khalifah of Prophet pbuh more than anyone
Prophet pbuh also made Abu bakr imam of Hajj . He didn't make anyone other than Abu bakr leader of Hajj
When It comes to Superiority(Afdhaliyat) No one was near to Abu bakr.. Ibn Umar said We(Sahabah) did not regard anyone equal to Abu bakr during the prophet pbuh life time
Even according to Ali bin Abi talib Abu bakr was the best person after Prophet pbuh. This has been reported more than 45 Sahih chains from Ali.
When it comes to most beloved people to Prophet pbuh . Abu bakr was among them . When Amr bin Al As asked from prophet pbuh that who is most beloved to you..
Prophet pbuh said Abu bakr is most beloved to me in men..
Prophet pbuh said Abu bakr is most beloved to me in men..
Now we have seen that prophet pbuh wanted to make him khalifah, Prophet made him Imam of Salah and leader of Hajj, He was most superior after prophet pbuh .He was first to accept Islam. He was most beloved to prophet. He was more worthy of being Khalifah than anyone.
Now we see in Quran that Allah promised Sahabah to grant the Khilafah in earth. Abu bakr was first Caliph . So it was according to will of Allah swt .. Prophet pbuh Allah and momineen will not gather on anyone except Abu bakr
Now in second part I will discuss the proves for Ali bin talib for khilafat and I will debunk them And also discuss the Incident of Ghadir khum..
Shia used to claim that Ali bin Abi talib is Wasi of prophet pbuh and he was his successor .Aishah who was siddiqah binte Siddique she denied that.. It never happened
Shia used to Say Prophet pbuh made Ali his successor on Ghadir khum.. If prophet had already made Ali bin Ali talib khilafah on Ghadir khum.. Then What was Ali bin Abi Tali doing there in the last days of prophet pbuh. When Abbas told Ali bin Abi talib to ask about khilafah.
Ali knew if he goes to prophet pbuh He would not make him Caliph. If prophet rejects to make Ali bin Abi talib a Caliph .Then people would never ever make him Caliph again. This is what he said to Abbas his uncle.
If prophet pbuh had already made Ali bin Abi talib Caliph on Ghadir khum .Then about what Muhajreen and Ansar were arguing in Saqifah. If Muhajreen and Ansar already knew Ali was Caliph then there was no poin to argue .When Abu bakr narrated the hadith about khilafah of Quraysh
When abu bakar narrated the hadith of Prophet pbuh about the khilafah of Quraysh then Muhjreen and Ansar did Bayah to Abu bakr not Ali .. Allah called the Sahabah best community who chose Abu bakr as Caliph
Allah praised heavily Muhajreen and Ansar in Quran and those were best Community and those people did bayah to Abu bakr as Caliph not to Ali bin Abi talib.
Allah said Affairs of believers are settled with mutual consultation. We all know the Muhajreen and Ansar mutually agreed on Abu bakr as Caliph.
Even Ali bin Abi talib did bayah of Abu bakr after few days ..He even said Abu bakr is most deserving of this authority after prophet pbuh. The narration in Bukhari which says Ali bin Abi talib did bayah after the 6 months is addition of Zuhr and not the words of Aishah
Imam Bahiqii Said words in the narration that Ali bin Abi talib did bayah of Abu bakr after 6 months is idraj(addition) of Zuhri into the narrations not the words of Aishah. Zuhri said those words while commenting on the narration but some narrators from Zuhri added these words
Ali bin Abi Talib didn't have qualities as that of Abu bakr . Muhajreen and Ansar didn't regarded anyone equal to Abu bakr. Now I discuss about the incident of Ghadir khum
Prophet pbuh sent Ali bin Abi talib as a commander to Yemen .He came with the war booty .Ali had sex with a slave girl from Khums .Sahabah like khalid bin Waleed and Buraidah didn't like that They complained about that to prophet pbuh
When prophet pbuh was at ghadir khumm Buraidah complained about Ali that he had sex with a slave girl then prophet said these words below in the narration as Ali bin Abi talib was right in ndoing as he had special right in khums as he was relative of Prophet pbuh
In other narration prophet pbuh said these words and these words are also authentic. Any addition to this narration after them are not authentic as pointed by ibn tammiyah..
So buraida hated Ali then prophet pbuh mentioned these words. This explain the context .. As buraida hated Ali then prophet pbuh told him to love him and take him as friend .This is the interpretation which fits context. Any addition after these words are not authentic.
Now I will cite the narration in which there is addition to original narration and words like" وهو ولي كل مؤمن بعدي
that Ali is wali of believer after me .. This addition to original narration is not correct

Now this narration is rejected by some scholars and accepted by Some . this narration is accepted by Albani and some others But according to them here "Wali" means friend not a master. If they according to them it would have been master there they would have rejected that
Here the narrator جعفر بن سليمان is a rafidhi . According to those who accepted this narration Acording to them he was not calling towards his bidah. As they thought here "Wali means friend not "master" But other scholars rejected this
Some weakened this narrator while others strengthened him .I will not go into details about them But he was a Rafidhi who used to hate Abu bakr and Umar and he himself said this.
Narration of innovator calling towards his innovation is not accepted by Scholars . He himself said he used to hate abu bakr . His biasness and hatred for bakr caused him to add these words into narrations to deprive him to khilafah and his words are rejected
Even at another place he himself narrated prophet pbuh didnot make anyone his caliph. Those rafidhis who use the narration of this Rafidhi narrator should also look here
Additions like these in other narration are also not authentic. Now According to shias prophet pbuh announced the wilayat of Ali at ghadir khum.. He could have announced that at Arafat.?? why he choose ghadir khum
