imagining the average ford salesman trying to explain an EV is, charitably, quite funny

never underestimate the power of the dealer model to sink a car -- especially one that doesn't compete strongly on price. https://twitter.com/johnvoelcker/status/1361681708727341057
most Mach E buyers will be highly EV-literate people for the first year or so, realistically. People who know what they want aren't the ones you need to worry about. Soon enough, the battle to educate on EVs will start to matter in a big way for sales.
On that front, Tesla has done an exceedingly good job on managing customer expectations, imo. It has made going EV a much less scary, less daunting proposition. Other EV dealers are ill equipped to explain where they add value right now, and that's a problem.
Ford et al need to move quickly on dealer education that focuses on range anxiety, charging networks, and home charger performance, related costs, and requirements. Those bullet points should be seared into the brains of every sales rep.
