Thread Re: Devon Dotson, Tre Jones, Grant Riller and others thriving in the G-League
They are all great with the ball in their hands for varying reasons, but I have concerns about any of their games translating to the NBA to any role other than “12 MPG backup point guard”.

I know there is a great @JakeInThePaint piece ( http://jakeinthepaint.com/draft-journal-vi-the-value-of-second-side-creation/) on the value of second side creation, but I’m not sure I see these guys being played next to a typical starting point guard type at a similar size due to redundancy of skills and lack of lineup size.
This was part of the reason I was lowish on Dotson and Jones (and was probably too high on Riller) predraft. I think all three are excellent players, but I worry about their ceiling in the league unless they find a perfect situation.
And don’t get me wrong, a good backup point guard is important! But it’s a spot where the replacement level player is high and probably not worth a top 20-25 pick. This was played out in the Draft despite a lot of people on here (me included!) having one or more of them top 25.
