the way you look may not actually line up with what society has deemed beautiful.

Jesus’ appearance wasn’t. There was “nothing desirable about him” But He was & is the most beautiful person to ever touch planet earth.

Our minds need to be renewed in knowing what beauty is.
it’s easy to just fall back on, “you’re fearfully and wonderfully made!”

well yeah... but do we realize that may not line up with what our ideas of beauty actually are?

this is why we need to have our eyes on our creator and not Instagram to tell us what is & is beautiful.
let’s also talk about this:

WHY IS THERE SUCH A PRESSURE TO BE PHYSICALLY DESIRABLE?

last time I checked the great commission (our purpose of being here on earth as believers) didn’t have a prerequisite to be dripping with desirable beauty.

that type of mindset is vain.
there are whole ministries centered around body/self image & trying to teach how beautiful each of us are.

while I know the intention is pure, we’re missing the problem.

the problem is that we are allowing physical beauty to get in the way of us loving and pursuing Christ.
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Charm in our own individual way isn’t what we should look for...
Beauty in our own individual way isn’t either..

Fearing the Lord is what we should look for & strive for!
