Our power has been off for over 13 hours now.

It’s 14 degrees outside here in Houston.

The temperature inside our apartment is around 55 degrees and continuing to drop.

I thought @ERCOT_ISO was doing “rolling blackouts” but this is not what rolling blackouts look like.

When will our power be restored, @ERCOT_ISO?

What are you doing to get our power restored, @GovAbbott? https://twitter.com/sylvesterturner/status/1361434490745344000
Everything in our home—and in many Houston homes—is electric.

I don’t even own wool socks or sweaters anymore. That’s not unusual here.

Please don’t condescend to me. I’ve lived through many blizzards in the North.

It’s not the same as doing it without any infrastructure. https://twitter.com/phil_lewis_/status/1361673752807940097
To be clear: my daughter and I will be fine. We have a roof over our heads and will figure it out.

But people have already died and more will die if @GovAbbott and @ERCOT_ISO don’t fix this ASAP.

It’s bitterly cold. And most Houston folks don’t even have the right clothes.
