For the sake of education: there’s a chemical in semen called prostaglandin that can give you cramping and diarrhea. Women produce that same chemical during the menstrual cycle, which is why women get diarrhea before their period. https://twitter.com/yourfav_baldie/status/1361452636462059521
someone brought up a great point: prostaglandins are pivotal in the smooth muscle contraction of the uterus during labor, that’s why sex (semen) can induce labor.
it’s very telling to see so many people, specially women, claim this hasn’t happened to them or act disgusted when it’s actually a natural, healthy, and biological occurrence. Patriarchy and shaming women’s bodies goes deeper than we consciously know.
CLEARLY this does not happen to every woman. so many of y’all are missing the “or acting disgusted...” part. stop being so damn defensive.
this is getting some traction so i’d like to say: knowledge is so powerful and liberating. These are crucial facts about our OWN bodies that are withheld from us in order to prevent forward movement.
