Relief tinged with frustration and disbelief at #COVIDVaccine postcode lottery for learning disabled people: my sister's GP's used clinical judgement to vaccinate Raana.
Learning disabled people aren't a priority for jabs despite the higher risk of death - so much poof of this.

Facts:
- learning disabled 18-34 yr-olds 30x more likely to die from Covid than general population
- as a general group, 6x more likely to die
- existing health inequalities are dire
- still being given 'do not resuscitate' orders
(stats from NHS, ONS & Public Health England)

GP decided to vaccinate Raana while vaccinating her housemates who are on priority list as they have #Downsyndrome (the support staff were already vaccinated). Other GPs/areas doing similar. See Kent & Medway https://bit.ly/37ivMSl and Oxfordshire too: https://twitter.com/mylifemychoice1/status/1357732551432011785?s=20
Facts:
- vaccine supply is good
- learning disabled people are at greater risk of dying from Covid
- they're not getting jabs
- some, like my sister, are lucky with GP
Luck shouldn't come into it. Evidence is overwhelming
Unless you think some people's lives don't matter.
