Maroš Šefčovič says he will be (virtually) meeting with NI business leaders & others from civil society on Thursday.
Also expects the Specialised Ctte on NI to meet this week ahead of Joint Ctte next week. The SC does the official level technical work.
Šefčovič also says the Commission is setting up a ‘clearing house’ through which any NI linked issues must be assessed & evaluated.
He acknowledges that the introduction of the Protocol has been ‘administratively extremely challenging’ but urges businesses in NI to look for the opportunities of continuing single market access.
He says he would of course meet the NI Exec but his interlocutor is Michael Gove so he’d need to Gove to approve that.
