North Texas cities - you too have an obligation to communicate with your residents during the severe weather.

WHERE ARE YOUR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TEAMS?

Occasional forwards isn’t how it’s done.

This is a crisis. There have to be crisis management plans.
Cities have to use social media has to be a consistent primary method of communication.

And there are no plans for that.

People are flooding 911 because they are not seeing any information other than to call energy providers.

That’s not how this is supposed to work.
I’m so over inefficient government operations.

Some things are basic, even in a crisis.

And ongoing communication is basic.

This is a leadership issue.
No one wants to hear that officials are frustrated.

They want to know what you are doing and how they can stay safe.

They want updates.
Dallas is the 9th largest city in the United States.

Remember that.

9th largest city communication is not happening right now.
An entire Super Bowl and festivities continued in 2011 during an ice storm.

There was no failure in communicating with residents then.
And communication should be distributed in more than just English.
And every business that raised their prices astronomically as North Texas residents tried to find safe accommodations should be called out.

Price gouging period, but especially in times of crisis, is immoral and unethical.
These are not rolling blackouts.

Don't let anyone tell you differently.

These are power outages. Folks have not had power in more than 24 hours.

Many things are broken beyond the power grid and apparently cannot be fixed.

And many things are broken and need to be fixed.
