I work at UEL in the art dept. Last August, management put us through "redundancy consultations" which was a horrible experience. Most of our jobs were saved because we fought back as a union. Now management are trying to sack the chair and vice chair of our branch

This is our chair, @Gargi_at_home who has been such a wonderful force for good in UEL for so many years. She is a leading voice in the UK on the intersection of race, gender and capitalism - research which has never been more vital https://twitter.com/saveUEL/status/1361595688182837249?s=20
And this is Jill Daniels, our @EastLondonUCU branch secretary who UEL are also trying to sack. Jill has helped me lots over the last two years. I knew she was solid as soon as I saw the framed picture of Brecht on her desk when we first met https://twitter.com/saveUEL/status/1361595859843108865?s=20
This is a few of us from @EastLondonUCU on the picket last year. Notice the banner drawing attention to a 12% race pay gap and a 9% gender pay gap in UEL - statistics which are even more shocking when set against the demographics of who's being sacked
Because of all this, we're going on strike next week. And I'm proud to stand with my comrades in @EastLondonUCU against these redundancies, because an injury to one is an injury to all
