There's something deeply depressing about watching "academics" like @GoodwinMJ try and make out they are secret warriors for free speech based on taking offence to people applying actual free speech to call out their misinformation, poor research or, in some cases, hate speech.

What I find particularly interesting is number of said "academic" who appear to have no issue with the government shutting down debate on the heritage of the country. Freedom of speech is also freedom for others to condemn and ignore you. It is freedom to interrogate your ideas.

Unfortunately a small number of people, including likes of Goodwin, appear to believe that free speech only applies to that which they want to say, and should allow them to speak where they want, when they want, without any criticism, any questioning. Any free speech effectively.
