To folks in the South with no power.

Here's some tips from a northerner for staying warm with no heat.

For starters, wrap up in every blanket you have.

If that's not enough then put on extra clothes, especially socks. If you can keep your feet warm, the rest of your body...
...will feel warmer. If you have candles, light them. You'd be surprised by how much heat a single candle can give off. On top of that fire has the psychological effect of making you think you're warmer than you are.

Just do whatever you can to stay warm.
Also just in case you have a water bed...I know, not many people have these anymore but some do... Don't sleep in it if you have no heat. It'll freeze the f*ck out of you. So take a night on the couch or floor if you have to.
Oh lastly, if you have a dog then tonight would be a good night to let them sleep with you if they can. Dogs are living furnaces.
