The "It's about me!",

My life
My body
My sex
My desire
My career
My money
My education
My preference

mindset is in direct opposition to the Christian faith and everything Jesus is as Lord and Savior.

Yet we take that very mindset into our marriages and wonder why they fail.
The Bible paints a picture of beauty in marriage through the Church being the bride of Christ. Jesus gave up everything to save her and reconcile her to God. There's no self involved in this eternal picture, just selfless love shown through action. That's what we are to emulate.
1Cor7:4 makes clear that your spouse has authority over your body.

"The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband also does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does."

"I'm not in the mood" doesn't reflect that.
