Why Historia's pregnancy is not because of a plan but because it was her personal choice: A thread.

#AoT #HistoriaReiss
A big question we are left with before the AoT finale is why Historia got pregnant and why she sided with Eren, even though she was initially strongly against his plan. What made her change her mind and keep quiet?
Historia is someone who has had to carry burdens on her shoulder ever since she was born. Because she was not born out of love, but simply because she was born out of an affair. Her mother didn't want her daughter, she regrets that Historia was born.
Historia being so happy in this scene just shows how truly lonely she has been all her life. Such a small thing was already enough to make her smile so genuinly. Seeing that she is not the only one to be burdened simply because she was born.
People say that Eren changed Historia's mind by forcing her into submission and by guilt-tripping her for saving the biggest enemy of humanity - him. But I highly disagree that is what Eren meant with those words. The worst girl in the world is not something negative.
Quite the opposite, the "good girl" Krista was the one who was willing to eat Eren and carry on the cruel tradition of the Reiss family for her selfish reasons - to be accepted by her father. The good girl Krista, who also dragged a dying man with the intention of dying a hero.
Eren never liked the good girl Krista. That had been established from the start. He liked her honest, "bad" side way more. But he doesn't think it's bad actually, just normal and honest.
The worst girl in the world was the one who expressed her wish to protect the ones who are opressed by the world. Eren honors Historia's words and would never use them in a shallow way. He knows what she meant when she said she was the worst girl in the world.
It simply meant that she is willing to be the enemy of humanity if that's what it takes to save the ones who were abandoned just like herself, Ymir, Frieda, and Eren. Eren admires Historia and would never use her words against her.
Let's not forget that Eren doesn't need Historia's help anyway. Why would he force her to accept his plan? Why did he even tell her to begin with? I don't know the FULL answer, but part of it is because of exactly what he said. He doesn't want her to go ahead with their plan.
For one, it's because he doesn't want to sacrifice her, but there is the second, bigger reason. Eren would never allow HISTORIA to sacrifice her own children because of her selfish "good" act. Both Ymir and Eren would want her to be a person she can be proud of even if that meant
to be the most despicable person in the eyes of the oppressor.
Hisu might be okay with being sacrificed but Eren would not allow her to be okay with her sacrifice on behalf of her future children. I think Eren called her out on her selfishness and irresponsible way of thinking, and made her realize how fucked up her good girl mentality was.
Let's not forget how traumatized Eren is by his memory of eating Grisha. Seeing Historia's dad take our the syringe, he knew Historia was about to face the same HELL he went through. Eren would never allow another child to go through that "for the sake of humanity".
If you think Eren ONLY protected Historia because she is dear to him, you are mistaken. I honestly believe Eren would have come to hate Historia if she wasn't the person she was, deep down. He would hate her if she became someone who would use a child as a tool.
I honestly believe in this scene, Eren was not angry at Zeke and the people who blindly accepted the plan with silence, but also at Historia. Her agreeing to this speaks against everything she stands for, deep down.
"He did it to protect humanity." That kind of excuse is unacceptable for both Eren and Historia, deep down. She ate up his miserable excuses because she wanted to be a good girl. Just like she was eating up Paradis' excuses for the 50 year plan.
Eren witnessed Historia's inner child being mercilessly manipulated by her father. He told her sweet lies that Eren knows are not true, for sure. The look in his eyes watching this scene is pained.
So why did Historia have a child? Considering Eren reminded her of who she truly was with his words, she would never want a child to simply save herself from getting turned into a titan. There was no need for that. He already offered her to fight and run with her.
She is NOT the type of person to say, "nah I don't wanna fight or run when there is a much easier way, get knocked up and use it as a tool to save myself". Eren was there. He always was. He frequently visited her and he wasn't going to go anywhere, leaving her behind.
And while the timing is highly suspicious and makes it look like she only got pregnant in order to avoid getting titanized, it speaks against everything I mentioned. There is a huge piece of conversation we are missing, and if it was something as obvious and shallow
as using pregnancy to save herself, it would have been revealed right there and then. But it wasn't. Historia asks what EREN would think about her having a child after a heartfelt conversation, which heavily implies it's for her personal reasons.
If she asked Eren what he would think of her having a child in order to save her own ass, he would definitely NOT agree with her plan, and she's smart enough to know the answer to such an awful question, she wouldn't bother asking HIM, she would have just done it.
But some of us know deep down that's not what Historia/Eren did, and that it would mean absolute character assasination and narrative assasination. But many people have been saying AWFULLY shallow things about Historia.
