These stories are always guidance on what trans and non binary inclusive language looks like, and they're stripped of context because such articles are always designed to cause outrage and hatred
Yup it is from an ANU Gender Institute handbook, ie, a resource for people looking for guidance.

Articles like this are hate-mongering trash designed to dupe people
Also like, if you're in a clinical setting involving pregnancy, you're definitely going to need terminology for families which aren't "a woman carrying a child, and a man not carrying a child". People don't live under a rock, they know other circumstances exist.
