Continuing to seek better answers on how this failure happened, why so little warning, and how it can possibly persist.

Right now, sharing firewood, shelf-stable foods, or blankets safely with neighbors in need could go a long way.

Likewise, in extreme circumstances using 4-wheel drive to help elderly or vulnerable folks get somewhere safe while masked-up, calling to check in on folks, anything we can do to help one another could also make a difference in this crisis—compounding on existing health threats.
