Applying the "Billy Graham Rule" across the board implies that either,
1. Women are temptresses who will seduce men if given the chance, or
2. Women are liars who will falsely accuse men if given the chance, or
3. Men are animals who might assault a woman if given the chance 1/4
Ravi's problem wasn't that he was alone with women. Ravi's problem was that he chose to abuse women, continually sought out ways to abuse women, then lied about his abuse of women repeatedly. Those were choices he made, they were not the result of being alone with women. 2/4
Telling men to avoid being alone with women because, look what Ravi did, is ridiculous. Instead we should tell men, DON'T ABUSE WOMEN! And there are millions of men who get through life without ever assaulting a woman. It's true. It can be done. 3/4
And if you're a man and you feel like you can't be alone with a woman without assaulting her, then there is a bigger concern, and you need to step out of ministry or leadership immediately, and get help. The "Billy Graham Rule" is not your answer. 4/4
