They just have to be a good human.

You do not have to be a father of girls to recognise and act on violence against women and systemic gender inequality.

You DO NOT have to be a refugee or married to one to support compassionate immigration policy and recognise fundamental human rights.

You DO NOT have to have a child with autism, a friend with an acquired brain injury or have a disability yourself to champion better policy.
You DO NOT have to have experienced living below the poverty line to support a living wage.

You DO NOT have to have a gay sister/uncle/son/friends to recognise queer rights or the damage of homophobia.

You DO NOT have to personally experience racism to know how harmful it is.
You DO NOT have to be a member of the stolen generation, been cut off from Country or experienced extreme racism and marginalisation to know how badly Indigenous Reconciliation is needed.

You DO NOT have to live in an area still bearing the scars of bushfires.
You DO NOT have to live in bushfire/drought/flood affected areas to recognise the need for urgent climate action.

You DO NOT have to have adult children wondering if they’ll ever buy a home or an elderly divorced mum struggling to pay rent to know we have a housing problem.
You DO have to listen to ALL the people you are paid to be a public servant for.

You DO have to BE COMPETENT, listen to experts & act on evidence. YOU NEED TO DO YOUR JOB.

You DO NOT have to be male/female/gay/straight/biracial/religious/whatever!

You have to be HUMAN. Period.
