Confession, last semester as a new professor at MIT, I set a goal. I taught the history of modern architecture (twentieth century) and never once mentioned the name Le Corbusier. #itcanbedone #modernarchitecture #architectureculture
Second goal, I made sure both women and people of color were represented in every single class.
And third, I required every student to explore new and unique primary and secondary material (online archives/collections right now are đŸ’„đŸ’„đŸ’„, thank you staff and curators). They produced đŸ”„đŸ”„ work, they engaged in every session, and each student’s research changed me. #MIT
I know many professors are doing the work. It is hard. I see you, and I am so impressed with the education (in history) students are getting today.
And I realize I still have much to improve on, here to continue to do the work.
