I reach out to over 300 new prospects per week
Some answer immediately
Some answer within 48 hours
Some I have to send 6 emails to before they answer
Some it takes even more
But then there are those who NEVER answer, no matter how good my emails/calls are

But then there are those who NEVER answer, no matter how good my emails/calls are
This led me to get creative in how I approached them
So I started texting them...
The results blew my mind
So I started texting them...

I took a list of 81 prospects who have never responded to me...or have responded, but then went dark
I split them into 3 categories
1. I'll be in your area
2. Following up
3. Is this better for you?
I created a generic text for each group

I created a generic text for each group
In 1 week I sent out a text to all 81 prospects
-31 led to a meeting/call within the next 48 hours
-26 led to a meeting/call within the next 5 days
-18 didn't answer
-6 told me to stop texting
57 out of the 81 LED TO A MEETING...that's a 70.3% success rate

So how did I structure the texts?
Below I'll go into all 3 groups and how I texted them
Below I'll go into all 3 groups and how I texted them
Group 1: "I'll be in your area"
This one had the highest success rate, and is my favorite
The text is simple
"Hey (name) I'm going to be near your office at (time). Can I swing by and bring you coffee? If so, how do you take it?"

33 texts sent - 28 meetings/calls set
Thats an 85% success rate
I used this on prospects who I could physically go see
I offered coffee because it was cheap for me, and it forced them to put their guard down
Everyone loves coffee...especially free coffee

Group 2: Following Up
The text
"Hey (name), this is Cameron, I'm following up on the (call/email) I sent you (date sent). Do you have time this afternoon to discuss in more detail?"

28 texts sent - 19 meetings/calls set
68% success rate
The goal here was to simply remind them of what I've sent in the past
This group was mainly people who have responded to me, but then went dark
People forget. In sales, your job is to be the reminder they need

Group 3: Is this better for you?
This one was strong
It allowed me to get ahold of people who had never once answered me in the past
I wasn't being pushy, I was honestly just asking what was best for them

The responses I got were great...and exactly what I hoped for
"Yes, sorry I didn't see the emails"
"Yes, I don't check voicemail often"

I'm going to keep testing out texting strategies and will add to this as I get more results
I am very pleased with how this test went, and will be using texting in my sales process from now on
