A gentle reminder that most nordic countries have turbines running in subzero temperatures over several months. This is a political failure, not a technical one https://twitter.com/TheStalwart/status/1361368086197243909
yo I was just tweeting into the void as usual why y'all screaming in my mentions now. shoo shoo
Oh no, now I have to deal with awful takes like those saying that now frozen Texas infrastructure shouldn't take into consideration the possibility of freezing because "uniqueness" https://twitter.com/LoneStarBarman/status/1361446717799993344?s=20
It's wild the amount of people wasting their time in my feed to inform me that Nordic countries turbines would MAYBE also have trouble is exposed to 3 months of scorching heat. Ok, but your cheap ass turbines are frozen RIGHT NOW for a few hours dip so maybe focus on that?
I can't believe this needs to be said but: My point is NOT that Nordic countries are perfect. My point is that if their turbines run for MONTHS in subzero temps and your whole gas\\wind system collapsed for a few hours dip, MAYBE your political class is failing you.
An update for the "Who would have thought that Texas could freeze" crowd https://twitter.com/jerryn13/status/1361453331810574336?s=20
Aaaaand it turns out, ERCO apparently thought of it. So much for the "unexpected" nature of this event https://twitter.com/EminenceUsagi/status/1361447304683806721?s=20
