A woman told me she was vaccinated at John Hunt Park today and she did not have an appointment. Sunday Huntsville Hopsital told @whnt they would close their vaccine clinic due to inclement weather. Obviously the clinic is open. We’re working to learn more.
Many people in line told me they had family members and friends tell them to come here to get a shot. One teacher told me an official from their district told them to come here. No one I talked to had an appointment.
Huntsville Hospital officials told me they decided to reopen the clinic since the roads weren’t as bad as they thought they were.
To get as many people vaccinated today as possible they reached out to officials from Huntsville, Madison and Madison County Schools to tell educators they could get a shot without an appointment. They also contacted Huntsville City to see if they had employees who wanted a shot.
