Today I am 40 years adopted. Twice battered baby, Yorkhill hospital then Quarriers homes until I was 8. I missed formative development but 4 Highers, 4 businesses & travelled the world. Love & education saved me - forever grateful🙏  #Adoption
I made it into the Quarriers calendar, even with bruise on my forehead
Sometimes my friends came back from foster weekends with bruising, we called ourselves the police, to look out for each other
The highs & lows of standing in a line-up for 6 years before I was picked by a family🙏
Although we were occasionally bullied by older kids, I had friends and fond memories of Quarriers homes​ - weekend away with house mother mabel
Some families wanted to adopt me but couldn’t. At 17, I legally received my medical records, police reports & pandora's box was opened

Leaving Scotland at 18 was the best thing I did. Meeting other troubled kids, we saved each other.​ Do you know how to save a life?
