The manager situation, my analysis (a thread):
It’s been clear for a while the Roy has to go. There are currently 5 managers with odds better than Pardew to come back, so we’ll start there.
1. Eddie Howe
- A young manager, with 5 years Premier League experience
- Plays exciting attacking football
- Managed to get Bournemouth to 9th
- Was relegated with Bournemouth, but his squad was falling apart
- Good recruitment AND development overall

2. John Terry
- Very inexperienced
- Aston Villa play great football on a good day, but it’s unclear how much is Terry’s work

3. Frank Lampard
- Relatively inexperienced, with only 1.5 seasons as a premier league manager
- Was excellent with Derby, and I think Chelsea was too big a step up for him
- Good at developing talent, and would do well under our tight budget
- Never managed a mid-table club

4. Sean Dyche
- Has 5 seasons premier league experience, and has managed a similar club
- Plays defensive football, but has guided Burnley to 7th with it
- Is currently doing badly in a similar situation to us
- Quite an old-school manager, cultivates defensive talent

5. Lee Johnson
- Zero premier league experience
- Has done good things in lower leagues
- Brought through some grassroots talent
- Would be a big step up
- I don’t watch league one but he was great for Bristol

Bonus: Steve Cooper (seen his name thrown around)
- No premier league experience
- Attacking football with good defensive shape
- Brought through many talents as Liverpool academy manager
- Swansea looking great right now

In my opinion, we should not get a manger who doesn’t have premier league experience. Furthermore, I would not want Lampard, since he has never managed a club in our position. My choice would be Howe or Dyche, each with their vices and virtues. Thanks for reading!
P.S. It looks likely that if Burnley pick up form Dyche won’t leave anyhow
