[SCARCITY MINDSET THREAD]

Scarcity means operating on the mindset of not having enough. You’re in survival mode, you’re grasping at straws, you’re taking whatever assignment is coming your way, you’re scared of taking time off because that means losing and thus money.
When you're in scarcity mindset, you're scared of sending work to other freelancers, even though you’re busy, because what if next month you don’t have any work?

Scarcity yells at you: not enough, not enough. Not enough time, not enough money, not enough skills.
The thing with scarcity is that it's a cornerstone of capitalism; it's literally part of the system we live in. So it's an easy place to land when you're worried about #freelancework, and it's not "your fault." It's not even good or bad. It just HAPPENS sometimes.
Scarcity matters in your business because usually scarcity makes us settle for less. Lower rates. Assignments that don't match what we want long-term. Fewer close friendships. Less networking.

Scarcity can literally put a wall up between you and the progress you want to make.
Today in our secret episode (for Patreon members only -- you can still get it if you sign up before the end of this month: https://www.patreon.com/twcpod ), we talk with a psychologist about how to combat scarcity to embrace the opposite:

ABUNDANCE MINDSET.
Abundance is believing there is enough. More work. More opportunities. More money. It's believing that your skills are enough, and riding out the slow times with confidence. How do you get there?
From our psychologist guest: "When we are in down times, we've often disconnected from or lost touch with our skills, talents and accomplishments, so making a list is a great way to create your own cheering section that's based on truth."
