we ask every interviewer to give a number from 1 to 4,
1 -- would block
2 -- soft no
3 -- soft yes
4 -- would champion https://twitter.com/troutgirl/status/1361345810135273473

we won't hire someone if anyone throws a 1 (quite unusual, but don't have to justify it), and won't hire unless at least one person is willing to champion them ("i truly WANT to work with them!").
