yes *but* if any member on your team is a hard no, i think you have to respect that. this is often how you manage to keep creeps out.

we ask every interviewer to give a number from 1 to 4,

1 -- would block
2 -- soft no
3 -- soft yes

we won't hire someone if anyone throws a 1 (quite unusual, but don't have to justify it), and won't hire unless at least one person is willing to champion them ("i truly WANT to work with them!").

but getting a couple 2s isn't a disqualifier, often it's just lack of signal.
