Golems

The one part of golems that we don't talk about enough, because it doesn't sound so cool, is that they embody the feelings and temperaments of the maker

A thread
The famous stories about the mahral of prague, all have the Golem eventually having a mind of it's own, and doing things it's maker didn't want

This could be looked at as a homily for ones actions not always having the exact expected outcome
Or as a metaphor for self expression and interpretation

Or quite literally, a golem will embody whatever you put into it

Consciously, or otherwise

There is a reason for this. It's not just a cute metaphor, it's a warning label
Whatever you believe about Golems, the kabalistic writings that hint to them, all imply that there is a necessity for thoughts and intentions that are for god.

Because if not, who's to say the golem won't just act like the worst version of you?
This brings me to another important question we should ask ourselves

What's the difference between making a golem and making a child?

Besides requiring a mother and father etc. What really is the difference?

The short answer is: a child is directly from God
If a golem rebels, we get afraid
Who knows what it might do?

Because we are afraid of ourselves being out of control

We know ourselves, and we know that If we didn't have our minds to control our hearts, being completely animalistic and out of control is harmful and reckless
If a child rebels, a responsible parent will sigh and think "ultimately, they are their own person"

Because they are. They are a blessing bestowed upon us.

We can guide them, but not control them. And while we relate to them deeply, We can't know exactly what they are thinking
To all the people that really want a Golem out there

I hear you, it sounds really cool

But maybe, if you can, try taking care of a child first
