Reminder: some things you can do today if you are experiencing rolling black outs (from a person will exp)
1. Draw a hot bath in a clean tub, you can use the hot water in waterbottles in the blankets.
2. If you have a gas stove/range - use it and put a pot of water in the stove
2. cont. this will help with how dry the air will be as well as provide heat.
3. while you have power, conserve by using as few lights as possible, instead use heating pads in blankets (while observed) to bring heat close.
4. If you do not have updated windows cont.
4. cont. as much as the snow is pretty keep the blinds and curtains closed, put up a thick blanket if need be so it can block out the cold that creeps in.
5. Make sure to plug in your phones while power is available to help with charging issues.
6. This is my least favorite Earth wise, but as a last resort, if you have a vehicle - use it. It will have heat, and the ability to charge your devices. You can make a blanket bed in the back seat and get cozy. Not good for earth but good for surviving.
7. Put towels in the area under the door where draughts can come through.
8. Wear multiple pairs of socks, this is crucial for people with anemia and vascular issues in their extremities.
