ERCOT: at 1:30 a.m. we entered the third highest emergency situation because of high energy use. We are in controlled outages to try and restore the grid. We are trying to get the power back on as soon as possible.
Last night, ERCOT saw a record breaking demand for power. Then, around 11 pm generating units started going offline. So that is why there is so many outages, because demand is so high and is going through the reserves.
ERCOT expect these planned outages to continue through the rest of today and likely tomorrow morning, maybe all day tomorrow. They can't rotate the outages because of the "quantity of outages"
2 million customers across the state are without power right now, according to ERCOT
UNFORTUNATELY a bunch of tv stations don't understand mute and are doing their live shots during this call so we aren't able to ask questions.
