Thread for friends who may be driving in the snow for the first time, from a Northern Boi (TM) who wants you to be safe:

1. Take it slow! You do not want to rush.
2. Brake gently, and pulse the brakes if you start to slide while stopping. Never slam on the brakes.
3. Don't use cruise control.
4. If you start to drift sideways while driving forward, immediately take your foot off the gas, but don't brake. Turn your wheel slightly to adjust course until you have traction again. Don't oversteer, or you'll lose control fully.
6. If you find yourself stuck, don't continuously run the car. Run it for 10 minutes at a time to run the heat, but turn it off for at least 30 minutes after. This preserves how long you can have heat and prevents buildup of fumes from running a stationary car.
7. Pack blankets!
Apparently I can't count and skipped 5, but y'all get the point haha. Feel free to add!
