Today 457 years ago, one of the greatest astronomers of all times, Galileo Galilei was born! 

Galil was born in February 15th, 1546 AD in Pisa, Italy, where he lived for most of his life.

Galileo invented the first astronomical telescope ever! His invention led to discovering many of outer space's objects, such as sunspots, moon mountains, the 4 moons of Jupiter, and Saturn's Rings!

Despite his remarkable achievements in the field of Astronomy, he also had a significant role in the formulation of laws of inertia, the law of falling bodies, and parabolic trajectories, which led to a massive jump in the field of physics!

Unfortunately, Galileo was fought by his society and was condemned to a Catholic Church's trial for his beliefs that the Earth revolves around the sun.  As a result, Galileo was kept under house arrest since 1632.

In 1942 and after about 10 years of house arrest, one of the most respected astronomers and philosophers of all times, Galili Galileo, has died of fever at his home.
