Really grateful that President Biden is sending aid to Texas, even though we didn't vote for him in the election.
Before the last President, that was something you could sorta take for granted that a president would *do*.
Anyway, we're completely snowed in here; there's no way we're able to leave the house for the next few days. There's no power, the water pipes are frozen, and it's dry cereal time. 👍
I know it's funny to a lot of northerners that we can't handle a little snow, so hopefully my tweets kinda clear up how our infrastructure works, or really *doesn't* work, when weather like this happens.
The power company line to report outages is down from "too many callers". We don't know if we'll have power again today, tomorrow, when.

Start a fire? Our fireplace is a decorative gas-powered piece that requires electricity to turn on. Most houses don't have a fireplace here.
We have our water set to drip, but my co-worker did that too and her pipes froze anyway. Our blinds and curtains are all very thin and designed to keep out light rather than to keep in heat.
Kissmate and I have taken the cats to the bedroom and we're making a warm space there with our bodies and lots of blankets, but we're not old or frail. Big advantage.

Even so, it's scary because what if we need to go to the ER again?
We were very lucky to have gone to the ER Saturday night and gotten the prescriptions he needed on Sunday. Otherwise, he wouldn't have his pain meds or antibiotics until, like, next week. Or whenever the snow plows come out to us.
If we had the power for my laptop, I'd be tempted to do a Laura Ingalls Wilder live read again, coz that's what this feels like. 😂 WILL THERE STILL BE CHRISTMAS, MA?
