Little Bets With Big Returns

(Thread)
Definitions:

A little bet is putting time and money into a project you can afford.

Big returns are the disproportionate rewards you get from winning bets.
Example:

After college, my friends all got jobs.

I decided to bet on starting a business.

They all got $60,000 starting salaries.

I lost $20,000 in my first year.
The next year, they all got small raises.

Meanwhile, I just barely made $40,000.

At this point, I was at a net profit of $20,000 in two years.

They were at almost $150,000, had retirement accounts, and drove nice cars.
Then, another year went by.

They got small raises again.

I gave myself a 100% raise.

Another year, another small raise for them.

Another year, another 100% for me.
Soon, I had passed them up.

Best of all, my income was scalable.

I had leverage on social media.

I employed software and affordable freelancers.

I built systems, and my income suddenly had no cap.
The Point:

- Start a business
- Ask someone on a date
- Live outside the country for awhile

These don't cost much, and they can change everything.

Look for small bets, and when you find the right one, pounce.
