In the US, the government has purchased enough vaccine to cover the entire population many times over.
Every healthcare worker who wants to be vaccinated has received Pfizer or Moderna.

In America, I know many young healthy people who work from home who have been vaccinated.
There are doses going to waste every day because of poor planning.

To be home in Zimbabwe, next to my friends, family, and colleagues — fellow healthcare workers — who are attending to patients with COVID-19 and dying in the process, brings my privilege into stark reality.

In the last few weeks countless unvaccinated Zimbabwean healthcare workers have died of COVID, including pioneering physicians.

Today, Zimbabwe received its first shipment of 200,000 donated Sinopharm vaccines from China.
