I know Myers-Briggs is often looked at as Corporate Horoscope.

But there are practical applications to understanding personality types.

I’ll help you understand them.

//
Here are my goals for this thread:

- Increase your understanding of Myers-Briggs framework
- Help you develop greater self-awareness and awareness of others
Here is the plan:

- Brief Overview
- Quick Self Assessment
Myers-Briggs explains that people have different methods of

- Getting energy
- Making decisions
- Gathering information
The theory assumes that people are predisposed to develop the preferences that combine to form their four-letter type.

It is about helping us understand our preferences.

It is not about skill or ability.
The four dichotomies of Myers-Briggs are

EXTRAVERSION or INTROVERSION
Opposite ways to direct and receive energy

SENSING or INTUITION
Opposite ways to take in information
THINKING or FEELING
Opposite ways to decide and come to conclusions

JUDGING or PERCEIVING
Opposite ways to approach the outside world
Let’s take some time to do a quick self-assessment.

Each dichotomy will include a list of words commonly associated with the preference.

You will connect to words on both sides for each dichotomy, but think about which seems most naturally aligned with your preference.
