Or you could take inspiration from the @NatPrintMuseum's brilliant recent initiative #impressyour5km - take paper & crayons on your walk & collect rubbings from your neighbourhood - look out for post-boxes, coalhole covers (but make sure to take impressions, not leave any) 
Lastly if you're lucky enough to be 5km from a beach what about a sandcastle challenge? Walls, towers, arches, moats are all welcome additions, and Renzo Piano recommends a flag on top
