Where Does Fear Come From?

And what you can do about it

/ / A Thread
We all experience fear and anxiety but more often than not it is unjustified.

There are no life threatening dangers around us, so why are we afraid?

To answer that we have to go to the starting point of our life...
It is the moment you are born that you experience fear for the first time.

Before that...

You are in your mothers womb and you are completely taken care of.

Your mother breathes for you and provides you with nutrients.
Once you are born you lose that care.

You have to breathe for yourself.

You feel cold and hunger for the first time.

You yourself have to secure your survival now.

This is where fear but also the desire to live is born.
Every desire you will have in your life has its root in this fundamental desire to survive.
As an infant you know that you have to rely on someone else to take care of you to survive.

When you grow up, your original fear and desires are still there.

Even you are not a baby anymore you still fear you are threatened by the world or that no one might take care of you.
You carry that feeling of helplessness and fear from your childhood into your adult live.

It is in the subconscious mind.

Your desire to have a partner is, in part, a continuation of the desire for someone to take care of you.
Your fear what others think of you comes from the same place.

You are afraid that if they don’t accept you you will be in danger.
But you are not a baby anymore. You are strong enough to take care of yourself now.

You need to take care of that old fear to let it know there is nothing left to fear anymore.

Talk to your fear, as weird as it sounds, but it is important that and how you talk to yourself .
Tell your fear that you are an adult now.

You can take care of yourself now.

Embrace the idea that you are strong and will overcome the challenges life throws at you.

Tell yourself „I love you“ and that you will be there for you.
You will realize that the feeling of safety you want to feel doesn’t need to come from someone else.

You can give it to yourself.
