Some say "Estonia tries too hard to become Nordic" and ask "Why Estonia wants to become Nordic?"

It's less to do with "becoming" and more to do with our shared history just getting publicly known again on the internet. It's a re-emergence of info that was lost with Iron Curtain.
It's not like we went back in time and started using the runic calendar, sauna, semla, glögg, viking ships, named capital after Danes, took Danish coat of arms, founded a Swedish university, and learned a Finnic language just to become more Nordic today and join some fancy club.
To make such historical facts easily available I've kept a blog called Nordic Estonia since ca 2014. In addition to appearing in articles/tv etc. I used to hide this, since it got ridiculed online, but in recent years there's been a shift in perceptions.
