On the anniversary where one woman took her own life after being hounded by the media, this is the headline a paper ran about a woman chased out of the country by the media who announced her pregnancy yesterday, after suffering a miscarriage last year. Let that sink in.
Not wanting your privacy invaded and being hounded 24/7 does not mean publicity shy. Meghan was an actor. She knows this industry. She is allowed boundaries around her personal life for her own mental health. What do you want her to do, hide in a dark corner forever?
There has been endless examples of women being harassed and gaslit by the media. Diana. Jade Goody. Caroline. Hell, this week even Britney and Lindsay Lohan are hot topics and then today - this. They won’t change. Almost like they hate successful and strong women with a voice.
Prince Harry is a royal. He has been a prominent figure in British royalty. OF COURSE they’re going to announce the pregnancy. They. Both of them. There is two people in that photo. Not just a woman. I’m so glad they seem happy and escaped this dumpster fire of press.
Glad so many of you agree that this behaviour is unforgivable. I worked on a campaign last year to encourage people to #BeKind online if you wanted to check it out 💖 https://twitter.com/_jessicadavies/status/1263500553843281922
Just adding- ‘Framing Britney Spears’ is on Sky Documentaries and NowTV at 9pm tonight! (16/2). Another example of the media hounding a woman to the edge. Watch it, get angry and let’s #FreeBritney 🙌
