It’s time for a thread - this time, let’s break down all the madness from Bylis-Laci in the Albanian top flight fight this weekend...
It all begins with a Bylis defender going down after a collision with Laci’s main striker and man built like a wall, Kyrian Nwabueze - who was sent off before this for an alleged elbow. Nwabueze goes to check on him and, instead, cuffs him on the ground...
...all hell then breaks loose as the Bylis team swarm Nwabueze, who clocks one more player in the face before Carkanji then goes at Nwabueze with a bit of the old Taekwondo stomp...
You’ll have seen a little bald fella collide with and try to German Suplex Nwabueze - that’s Bylis’ assistant manager Bekim Kuli. Kuli, who has genuinely claimed he didn’t punch anyone, proceeds to smack Nwabueze repeatedly while downed.
Fun fact - Kuli actually injured himself here. He got a hematoma on his hand from punching Nwabueze too much. He was also bloodied in the melee, putting on the crimson mask.
The Albanian PFA have come out and said “throw the book at them”, which perhaps shows the seriousness with which this is being taken. Laci have suspended Nwabueze ahead of the FA disciplinary committee meeting which should give verdicts on Wednesday.
The potential is for bans going from 5 games upwards depending on how the rules are actually going to be interpreted (for example, there’s a difference in sanction between a punch as an “attack or violence” and one as an “assault or violence”
)
