Lived 25 years in a safe Tory seat where Labour members were idealistic, committed socialists because those who were in politics out of personal ambition joined the Tories. Now live in a safe Labour seat and the party’s filled with folk who just want their name in a local paper.

Many of these members are right wing. This is what is wrong with Labour, this is a reason the red wall collapsed, because those once safe seats will have councillors and local officials who were, and still are, openly anti-Corbyn.

Also explains how so many safe seat MPs are an utter disgrace yet still supported by their CLPs. I’m thinking Ashworth, Phillips, Streeting, Austin, Field, Hodge, Berger, Gapes, Umunna, Woodcock - this could take me all day, but you get my drift.

There is nothing ‘moderate’ or kind about these people, btw. They would knock you to the ground and stand on your head just to have a peak at power and the political gravy train.
