So who am I?
I'm Jack Scott, 17 years old, prehaps the youngest person to host a week.
I have 1.3 acres spread across 3 areas growing chemical free vegetables. I'm usually busy in sixth form studying IB maths, IB geography and Btec Business extended.

I grow and live on a small corner of Kent, on the Isle of Thanet. Thanet used to be an island until the River Wantsum became blocked by silt. The majority of Thanet is grade 1 soil producing the finest quality potatoes and other vegetables as well as plenty of cereals.
I'm very lucky to be doing what I'm doing, my mum worked in the family green grocer and my dad picked cauliflowers as well as other general farm work. So as you can imagine I've grown up around vegetables, from watching them being planted to being sold.
From watching vegetables grown to sold, I've always wanted to do that myself. So back in primary school I got involved in 'gardening club' then with help from my nan I grew my first lot of Paris market carrots which I sold at the family green grocers.
More recently, I took my first 1/2 of an acre with the neighbours when I was 12. Then 2018 started seasonal work at a local potato farm grading potatoes. 2020 was a very successful year for me, holding weekly stalls selling my vegetables as well as taking on 2 parcels of land.
There's a total of 9000 feet(as the crow flys) between my 2 newest areas. My larger site is in the beautiful setting of @quexpark. Which in itself is a huge microclimate as well as being packed with wildlife from the work done, following the @NFFNUK beliefs.

This is me!
In 2020 I featured on the front page of the @margatemercury newspaper. I'm really thankful for this as this has helped me grow a reputation.

In the future I want to get into a career in growing organic vegetables whether that's my own business or organic agronomy. As I'm in my final year of study (year 13) I am making my choices, I've applied for universitys and apprenticeships in regenative agriculture and ecology.
If anyone knows of any apprenticeships /traineeships please let me know. Thank you.
