If your profile picture looks like this, change it!
People are much less likely to interact with an account with a default profile picture. Even if your account is new with few followers, you won't stand out as a newbie.

Don't feed the trolls!
You may feel like you're telling them off, or making a great point. In reality, that's just what they want you to do!
